The Gordon Trust

The Gordon Trust offers grants to charitable organisations undertaking projects in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire.

Key Criteria

Funding is available for work in the following areas:

  • disability,
  • social depravation,
  • homelessness,
  • substance and alcohol abuse,
  • prisoner education and rehabilitation.

Very occasionally we will support projects outside these areas.

We are normally unable to support individuals or any group that does not have charitable status.

  1. Value of Grants
Grants tend to range from £250 to £1,000 although we have no upper set limit for very special applications.
  2. Eligible Expenditure
We do not normally support applications for every day running expenses. We prefer to support one-off revenue costs or capital expenditure.
  1. Application Procedure
Applications must be made on the Trust’s application form and submitted by email to [email protected] Applicants should also send their organisation’s most recent accounts (unless they appear on the Charity Commission website). A budget for the project should also be sent. Applications are considered four times a year, in February, May, August and November. The deadlines for applications are: 15th January, 15th April, 15th July and 15th October. Successful applicants will usually be informed of the Trustees' decision within two weeks of the Trustee meeting. We regret that we are unable to write to unsuccessful applicants.
